Orua Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-04-22 · v1.0 and later
1. Service Description
Orua (the "Service") is an iOS personal finance app provided by Kepler Jhih (the "Developer"), consisting of the mobile app and a backend real-time quote API.
2. Acceptable Use
- The Service is for personal financial record-keeping only and does not constitute investment advice of any kind.
- Quote data comes from third-party public APIs and may be delayed, inaccurate, or missing. Do not rely on it for trading decisions.
- You may not reverse engineer the Service, scrape the backend API in bulk, or resell the Service to others.
- You may not use the Service for unlawful activities, including but not limited to money laundering, tax evasion, or violations of securities regulations.
3. Disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is", with no guarantee of continued availability, freedom from errors, or fitness for a particular purpose. The Developer assumes no liability for any direct or indirect loss arising from use of the Service, including but not limited to data loss, investment decisions, or server downtime.
Users are strongly advised to export data backups regularly (Settings → Data Backup) to guard against data loss caused by device loss, app upgrades, or other force majeure events.
4. Intellectual Property
- Copyright in the app's interface, code, and design elements belongs to the Developer.
- Financial data entered in the app belongs to the user and is stored entirely on the user's device.
- Copyright in third-party quote data belongs to the respective providers (TWSE, Yahoo, CoinGecko, etc.).
5. Changes and Termination
- The Developer reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Service at any time without prior notice.
- If the backend service is to be discontinued, an announcement will be posted on this page and in the app at least 30 days in advance so users can export their data.
- Because user data is stored entirely on device, the app remains usable offline with historical data even if the backend is discontinued.
6. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan). Any dispute arising from these terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Taiwan Taipei District Court as the court of first instance.
7. Amendments
Material changes to these terms will be announced on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of Orua constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
